Life's pretty chaotic at work, which has bleed into life at home. The only way I can push through the stress is my babies at home, the scaly and the furry. Remembering the reason I took the job helps some days. Seeing my favorites find their forever homes can ease the stress. Seeing individuals rescued from horrible situations or even a termination line is always a bonus. Just got to keep pushing through. When I'm feeling down, I'll hug a puppy or cuddle my fur babies.

I've worked with the Gulf Coast Humane Society for 15 months now, and it still blasts a hole straight into my soul on how cruel people can be sometimes. Poor Sunset was found in Lehigh Acres, FL Tuesday morning by a passer by. Dumped on the side of the road and left to die. She was severely emaciated and covered head to toe in injuries. All the marks pointed to one thing. Our poor Sunset was used as a bait dog. She is the third bait dog I have seen pass through our doors. It's now the end of Friday, and she is still in critical condition. We, with the donations pouring in from concerned citizens, sent her to SVS today for cold laser treatmen
